# Work Environment **Working Conditions** - At heights - Wet or humid - Noisy **Workplace Types** - Various work locations - Commercial - Industrial - Institutional - Residential - Willing to relocate --- # Responsibilities **Tasks** - Install sprinklers and mount prepared pipes on supports - Select, measure, cut, bore, and thread pipes - Liaise with managers, engineers, and other trades - Train apprentices in the trade - Connect piping to supply tanks, main water lines, pumps, compressors, and regulation equipment - Install clamps, supports, and brackets necessary to secure piping, sprinklers, and fire suppression equipment using manual or mechanical tools - Install valves, alarms, and related equipment - Assemble pipe sections using welding and brazing equipment - Perform maintenance and repair of sprinkler systems - Check network tightness using pneumatic or hydraulic equipment - Drill openings in walls, floors, and ceilings using machines or manual or mechanical tools - Install supports, valves, ducts, and control systems - Measure, cut, tap, and bend pipes to required shape and size - Replace worn components and restart the system - Verify network tightness using appropriate equipment - Assemble pipe sections by making welded, brazed, threaded, or glued joints - Read and interpret plans, maps, drawings, and specifications --- # Qualifications **Credentials** - Sprinkler Fitter Certificate of Qualification - Red Seal Sprinkler Fitter - Driver's License - Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate --- # Additional Information **Working Conditions and Physical Abilities** - Handle heavy loads - Physically demanding - Attention to detail - Standing for long periods - Bending, squatting, kneeling - Possess own tools and equipment - Steel-toed shoes or boots **Personal Qualities** - Precise - Customer-focused attitude - Effective interpersonal relations - Excellent oral communication - Excellent written communication - Team spirit - Reliable **Benefits** *Health Benefits* - Dental care plan - Disability benefits - Health care plan - Vision care benefits *Financial Benefits* - Bonus - Life insurance - Night shift premium - Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP)
