**Responsibilities**
**Tasks**
Assess child development to prepare a learning plan adapted to their needs Assist colleagues with household and culinary tasks Bathe, change diapers and feed infants and toddlers Prepare and implement early childhood education programs that promote children's physical, cognitive, emotional and social development Maintain childcare equipment Storytelling Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers Synthesize the child's overall situation and communicate information to parents Help early childhood educators implement programs that promote children's physical, cognitive, emotional and social development Lead children's activities by telling them stories, teaching them songs and taking them to places of interest in the area Order supplies and equipment Help early childhood educators and supervisors maintain records Encourage children to express their creativity through art, dramatic play, music and physical activity Engage children in activities by telling them stories, teaching them songs and preparing crafts Guide and help children develop good habits for meals, personal hygiene and dressing Prepare and serve snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and naps Observe children to detect learning difficulties or behavioural problems, and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor Provide early childhood educators and supervisors with written observations of children Attend staff meetings to discuss children's progress and problems Knowledge of licensing regulations Establish behavioural rules Attend staff meetings to discuss children's progress and difficulties Build relationships with colleagues and other community service providers for children and collaborate with them Plan and maintain an environment that protects children's health, safety and well-being Plan and organize activities for school-age children participating in before and after school care programs Monitor and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants Supervisory functions and activities 3 to 4 people
**Qualifications**
**Credentials** (certificates, licenses, affiliations, courses, etc.) Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Certificate Child Development Assistant (Level 1) Early Childhood Education Supervisor (Level 3) Child Development Intervener (Level 2) Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency first aid for children Anaphylaxis and food allergy training Healthy child development principles training (HIGH FIVE) Member of the Order of Early Childhood Educators (OEPE) Planning to Protect Training Early Childhood Education Assistant Certificate First Aid Certificate Montessori Early Childhood Teaching Certificate CPR Certificate
