Work Environment Community pharmacy or retail pharmacy Responsibilities Tasks Advise clients on indications, contraindications, adverse effects, drug interactions and dosage Distribute prescribed pharmaceutical products to clients or other healthcare professionals Order and maintain sufficient stock of pharmaceutical supplies Review prescriptions to ensure correct dosage Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring and mixing correct quantities of medications and other ingredients Maintain a pharmaceutical profile of clients including toxic substances, narcotics and controlled medications Manage storage, packaging and distribution of medications Monitor and coordinate activities of other pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and other employees Quality control of medications during production to ensure compliance with standards of purity, uniformity, stability and product safety Evaluate labeling, packaging and advertising of products Credentials Credentials (certificates, licenses, affiliations, courses, etc.) Certificate from Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada Provincial or territorial license to practice Additional Information Personal Qualities Precise Customer-focused attitude Sense of responsibility Effective interpersonal relations Excellent oral communication Judgment Reliable
