Responsibilities Tasks Clean meats in preparation for packaging or cutting Prepare various cuts of meat ordered by customers Cut, trim, and prepare regular cuts of meat Wrap and package prepared meats Debone meats Weigh meats for sale Cut poultry into pieces Set selling prices for meats Clean and prepare fish and shellfish Sell meats to customers Cut fish into steaks and fillets Supervise other butchers, meat cutters, and fishmongers Grind meat Train meat cutters Make specialty sausages Slice roasted meats Prepare special assortments of meat, poultry, and seafood for display Shape and tie roasts and other meats, as well as poultry or seafood Experience and Specialization Experience with equipment and machinery Band saw Hand cutter Electric grinder Sausage machine Cutting machine Specialization or experience Green economy sector Additional Information Safety and Security Criminal record check Working Conditions and Physical Abilities Work under pressure Tight deadlines Fast-paced environment Standing for long periods Attention to detail Physically demanding Handling heavy loads Hand-eye coordination Benefits Other benefits Free parking available Training/learning paid by employer Wellness program
