Responsibilities Tasks Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of highway transport truck systems Confirm results with supervisor to determine if unit needs to be repaired or replaced Discuss work with supervisor Check and test mechanical elements to locate defects and imperfections Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions Inspect operating engine Examine work instructions Adjust, repair or replace defective parts or elements of various vehicle systems Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of heavy truck systems Repair or replace mechanical elements or components Test repaired systems and adjust them according to manufacturer specifications Estimate the cost of parts and labour for vehicle maintenance and repair Perform periodic maintenance operations Test and adjust elements according to specifications Complete reports to document defects and work performed
Required Qualifications Qualifications (certificates, licenses, affiliations, courses, etc.) Truck and transport vehicle mechanic qualification certificate
