Responsibilities Tasks Prepare cost estimates for materials and/or labour Read plans, drawings and sketches to determine job requirements Prepare layouts using measuring tools, taking into account building code requirements Measure, cut, shape and assemble wooden, particleboard, light steel or other material elements Erect foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, assemble prefabricated framing and roofing elements Adjust and install windows, doors, stairs and hardware Establish construction site work schedule and supervise its execution Determine building location and elevation Train apprentices Supervise other workers Estimate costs and materials Maintain, repair and renovate wooden houses and structures in factories, mines, hospitals, industrial facilities and other establishments Supervisor Functions and Activities 3 to 4 people
Qualifications Qualifications (certificates, permits, affiliations, courses, etc.) Certificate in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
