Responsibilities Tasks Clean and disinfect items such as mesh strainers, carts and dishwasher waste grinders Fill bins and trays used to clear tables Use a dishwasher to wash dishes, glasses and utensils Store dishes in designated locations Restock condiments and other items on tables and in service areas Disinfect dishes and other items and wash them by hand Divide food into portions and wrap them Prepare and heat simple dishes Fill refrigerators and salad bars Use manual and electric appliances to clean, peel, slice and cut food Clean and disinfect the kitchen, work stations, cabinets, storage areas and equipment Handle cleaning products and store them Receive, unpack and store provisions in refrigerators, freezers, cabinets and other storage areas Remove waste and garbage and empty trash cans Sweep, wipe, wash, wax and polish floors Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruits Food handling and food safety
