Responsibilities Tasks Prepare cost evaluations for materials and/or labor Read plans, drawings, and sketches to determine job requirements Prepare layouts, using measuring tools, while taking into account building code requirements Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wooden elements, particleboard, light steel, or other materials Erect foundations, install floor beams, install flooring underlayment, assemble preassembled framing and roofing elements Adjust and install windows, doors, stairs, and hardware Supervise other workers Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and wooden structures in factories, mines, hospitals, industrial facilities, and other establishments
