Responsibilities Tasks
Assess child development in order to prepare a learning plan tailored to their needs
Assist colleagues with housekeeping and culinary tasks
Bathe, change diapers and feed infants and toddlers
Prepare and implement early childhood education programs that promote children's physical, cognitive, emotional and social development
Maintain childcare equipment
Narration
Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers
Synthesize the child's overall situation and communicate information to parents
Help early childhood educators implement programs that promote children's physical, cognitive, emotional and social development
Direct children's activities by telling them stories, teaching them songs and taking them to places of interest in the region
Order supplies and equipment
Help early childhood educators and supervisors keep records
Encourage children to express their creativity through art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
Involve children in activities by telling them stories, teaching them songs and preparing crafts
Guide and help children develop good habits regarding meals, hygiene and dressing
Prepare and serve snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and naps
Observe children to detect learning difficulties or behavioural problems, and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
Provide early childhood educators and supervisors with written observations of children
Attend staff meetings to discuss children's progress and problems
Knowledge of regulations concerning permits
Establish behaviour regulations
Attend staff meetings to discuss children's progress and difficulties
Build relationships with colleagues and other community service providers for children and collaborate with them
Plan and maintain an environment that protects children's health, safety and well-being
Monitor and coordinate the activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood assistant educators
