Responsibilities Tasks Assess child development in order to prepare a learning plan adapted to their needs Assist colleagues in household and culinary tasks Bathe, change diapers and feed infants and toddlers Prepare and implement early childhood education programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children Maintain childcare equipment Narrative Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers Synthesize the child's overall situation and communicate information to parents Assist early childhood educators in implementing programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children Direct children's activities by telling them stories, teaching them songs and taking them to places of interest in the region Order supplies and equipment Assist early childhood educators and supervisors in keeping records Encourage children to express their creativity through art, dramatic play, music and physical activity Engage children in activities by telling them stories, teaching them songs and preparing crafts Guide and help children to develop good habits for meals, hygiene and dressing Prepare and serve snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and naps Observe children to identify learning difficulties or behavioral problems, and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor Provide written observations on children to early childhood educators and supervisors Attend staff meetings to discuss children's progress and problems Knowledge of regulations concerning permits Establish behavior regulations Attend staff meetings to discuss children's progress and difficulties Establish relationships with colleagues and other community service providers for children and collaborate with them Plan and maintain an environment that protects children's health, safety and well-being Monitor and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and teacher assistants
