Responsibilities
Tasks
Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of highway transport truck systems
Confirm results with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace the unit
Discuss work with supervisor
Check and test mechanical elements to locate defects and imperfections
Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
Inspect operating engine
Review work instructions
Perform road tests on motor vehicles
Test automotive systems and components
Adjust, repair or replace defective parts or elements of various vehicle systems
Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of heavy truck systems
Repair or replace mechanical elements or components
Test repaired systems and adjust them according to manufacturer specifications
Perform periodic maintenance operations
Test and adjust elements according to specifications
Complete reports to document defects and work performed
Supervise apprentices and teach them the trade
