# Responsibilities Tasks - Read plans, drawings and sketches to determine job requirements - Prepare layouts using measuring tools, taking into account building code requirements - Measure, cut, shape and assemble elements in wood, particle board, light steel or other materials - Prepare quotes and pricing proposals - Erect foundations, install floor beams, install flooring support, assemble pre-assembled framing and roofing elements - Adjust and install windows, doors, stairs and hardware - Establish job site work schedule and supervise its execution - Determine the location and elevation of buildings - Estimate costs and materials
