Responsibilities Tasks Interpret plans, maps, drawings and specifications to anticipate methods or sequences of operations Operate heavy equipment Read plans, maps, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements Clean and lubricate machines and fill machine tanks Measure distance, volume, length and weight Operate computer-controlled equipment Understand the purpose, proper use and information contained in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Record information in logbooks and other registers Perform pre-operation checks on machines Write accident reports Attach special work tools to machines Use Global Positioning System (GPS) and other navigation equipment Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment Perform minor repairs to machines Operate hydraulic pumping systems
Qualifications Qualifications (certificates, licenses, affiliations, courses, etc.) Driver's license (Class 1 or A)
