Responsibilities Tasks Review work instructions Perform road tests on motor vehicles Test automotive systems and components Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts or elements of various vehicle systems Test repaired systems and adjust them according to manufacturer specifications Estimate the cost of parts and labour for vehicle maintenance and repair Perform periodic maintenance operations Discuss with customers the operations performed and repairs that will need to be done in the future Complete reports to record defects and work performed Provide customer service Qualifications Qualifications (certificates, licenses, affiliations, courses, etc.) Automotive Mechanic Qualification Certificate Experience and Specialization Area of Specialization Engine Repair Electrical and Electronic Systems Diagnostics Alignment, Steering and Suspension Brake System Carburetion and Exhaust System Ignition System and Electrical System Automatic Transmission Drivetrain Components Benefits Financial Benefits Group Insurance
