Responsibilities Tasks
Eliminate hollows and bumps and spread freshly poured concrete evenly Prepare quotes and pricing proposals Use automatic compacting rollers to compact and level concrete layers Level concrete surface according to slope and depth specifications Work at heights or on scaffolding Use manual or mechanical tools to work concrete and finish as required Train apprentices in the trade Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door thresholds and other accessories Apply hardening and sealing products to protect surfaces Waterproof, dampproof and restore surfaces Repair, remake or replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures Estimate costs and materials Operate computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) systems and other computer systems Read and interpret plans, maps, drawings and specifications
