# Restaurant Manager **Work Environment:** Restaurant **Responsibilities and Tasks** - Analyze budget to increase and maintain restaurant profits - Develop a budget to determine the cost of food, ingredients, alcohol, kitchen and cleaning supplies - Evaluate daily operations - Modify food preparation methods and menu prices based on restaurant budget - Control receipts to determine labour costs - Monitor staff performance - Plan and organize daily operations - Recruit staff - Set staff work schedules - Supervise staff - Train staff - Determine the type of services to be offered and establish operating procedures - Close the cash register and complete balance sheets, cash statements and supporting documents - Conduct performance reviews - Establish the cost of products and services - Apply provincial or territorial laws and regulations concerning alcoholic beverages - Organize and maintain current inventory - Ensure health and safety rules are respected - Negotiate with suppliers regarding the supply of food and other products - Discuss with clients regarding catering services or facility use arrangements - Participate in the development and implementation of marketing plans - Direct individuals or provide instructions - Resolve customer complaints and address their concerns - Provide customer service - Manage events - Ensure staff training regarding their tasks, hygiene and safety standards - Supervise and coordinate activities of staff who prepare and distribute food - Supervise and verify tray preparation - Supervise and verify delivery of food trays - Write and submit reports - Prepare budget and evaluate costs - Establish methods to meet work schedules - Establish work schedules - Estimate ingredients and supplies needed for meal preparation - Ensure food and service meet quality control standards - Possess knowledge of the company's culinary styles - Supervise 5 to 10 people **Required Qualifications** - Smart Serve server/server training - Food Safety Certification **Experience and Specialization** - Management Information Systems (MIS or database) - Electronic cash register - MS Excel - MS Outlook - MS Word - Point of Sale System **Additional Information** *Working Conditions and Physical Requirements* - Fast-paced work environment - Work under pressure - Tight deadlines - Repetitive tasks - Physically demanding - Attention to detail - Sitting, standing and walking - Standing for long periods - High volume of work - Walking *Personal Qualities* - Precise - Customer-focused attitude - Sense of responsibility - Effective interpersonal relations - Excellent oral communication - Excellent written communication - Flexibility - Organizational skills - Reliable - Team spirit - Ability to multitask
