Responsibilities Tasks:
- Determine food portion sizes and costs
- Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their preparation
- Order food and kitchen supplies
- Prepare and cook dishes or complete meals
- Prepare dishes for clients suffering from allergies or food intolerances
- Prepare and cook special meals for patients, in accordance with dietitian or head chef guidelines
- Inspect kitchens and service areas
- Train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling
- Order supplies and equipment
- Supervise kitchen staff and assistants
- Maintain inventory and records on food, items, and equipment
- Clean the kitchen and work spaces
