Work Environment General Manufacturing Responsibilities Tasks Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, graphics and charts Adjust and calibrate production machines/tools Adjust and assemble machine components and spare parts to adjust tolerances Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments Document and report any deviations from specifications and tolerances Maintain control records and prepare inspection reports Verify dimensions of machined tools and parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g. micrometer, caliper) Verify, using precision measuring instruments, that product dimensions are accurate and conform to specifications Qualifications Qualifications (certificates, licenses, affiliations, courses, etc.) Machinist qualification certificate Experience and Specialization Measuring Tools Micrometers Calipers Gauges Vernier calipers Experience in use of equipment and machinery Cylindrical grinders Parallel lathes Milling machines Additional Information Transportation and Travel Information Possesses means of transportation Possesses a vehicle Valid driver's license Public transportation not available Working Conditions and Physical Abilities Fast-paced work environment Physically demanding Standing for long periods Attention to detail Weight handled Up to 23 kg (50 lb) Must provide own tools and equipment Tools Steel-toed shoes or boots Personal Qualities Precise Sense of responsibility Effective interpersonal relations Excellent oral communication Flexibility Initiative Teamwork Benefits Health Benefits Dental care plan Health care plan Vision care benefits Financial Benefits Life insurance Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP)
