Responsibilities Tasks Inspect products to ensure compliance with shape, dimensions, or other standards Bend, cut, roll, punch, drill, weld, or shape metals in other ways to manufacture parts or products Examine problems to resolve them or perform minor repairs Operate presses or other hot or cold forging machines to shape or form metal Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions Select materials and transport them manually or using a crane or winch to the work site
