- Order food and kitchen supplies
- Prepare and cook dishes or complete meals
- Prepare dishes for clients suffering from allergies or food intolerances
- Prepare and cook special meals for patients, in accordance with the guidelines of the dietitian or head chef
- Inspect kitchens and service areas
- Train staff in food preparation, cooking and handling
- Supervise kitchen staff and assistants
- Keep inventory and records on food, items and equipment
