Responsibilities Tasks Clean the work area Organize and maintain current inventory Verify plating thickness using micrometers, thickness gauges or other instruments Clean and maintain equipment Operate and control: plating equipment used to coat metal; hot dip plating equipment used to galvanize metal; and/or spraying equipment to reinforce worn or damaged parts Paint small objects and perform touch-up work with a brush Prepare and apply stencils, decals and other decorative items on finished products Prepare and mix metallic solutions according to formulas or specifications Select appropriate paint or paint mixture Monitor automatic metal plating machine that passes objects through various cleaning, rinsing and plating solutions Operate equipment to prepare objects for protective or decorative coatings Operate painting devices
