Responsibilities Tasks
Load and unload merchandise
Operate trucks or tractor-trailers to transport goods or materials
Monitor vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, refrigeration storage equipment and other equipment
Accept and process payment for merchandise
Adjust brakes
Perform emergency repairs on the road
Inspect trucks before, during and after trips and monitor all aspects of vehicles
Perform preventive maintenance
Receive and transmit information to the central dispatcher
Record information on cargo, service hours, distances traveled and fuel consumption
Tarp and ensure cargo safety and security
Qualifications
Credentials (certificates, licenses, affiliations, courses, etc.)
Driver's license with air brake endorsement
Driver's license (Class 1 or A)
