Work Environment Various work locations Responsibilities Tasks Read plans, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements Prepare layouts, using measuring tools, taking into account building code requirements Measure, cut, shape and assemble elements in wood, particle board, light steel or other materials Erect foundations, install floor beams, lay floor covering support, assemble prefabricated framing and roofing elements Adjust and install windows, doors, stairs and hardware Establish construction site work schedules and supervise their execution Train apprentices in the trade Maintain, repair and renovate residential and wood constructions in factories, mines, hospitals, industrial facilities and other establishments Additional Information Working Conditions and Physical Abilities Bending, squatting, kneeling Handling heavy loads Physically demanding
