Responsibilities Tasks Advise clients on beauty care Analyze the condition of hair and scalp Cut and trim hair according to client instructions and preferences Book appointments Personalized hair and scalp treatment Shampoo and rinse clients' hair Shave and trim beard and mustache Provide hair treatments, such as waves, straightening and dyeing, and provide scalp conditioning massages Supervise students/apprentices in training internship Apply bleach, perform color shampoos, dye or rinse to color, frost or highlight hair Apply hair extensions Clean and style wigs and hairpieces Cut, trim, thin, curl, wave, perm and set hair Suggest a hairstyle compatible with the client's physical characteristics and preferences Perform receptionist duties Maintain inventory of supplies and place orders
