Responsibilities Tasks Advise clients on beauty care Analyze hair and scalp condition Cut and trim hair according to client instructions and preferences Personalized hair and scalp treatment Shampoo and rinse client hair Provide hair treatments, such as waves, straightening and coloring, and provide scalp conditioning massages Supervise other hairstylists and other employees Apply bleach, perform color shampoos, dye or provide rinses to color, frost or highlight hair Cut, trim, thin, curl, wave, perform permanents and styling Suggest a hairstyle compatible with the client's physical characteristics and preferences Keep inventory of supplies up to date and place orders Qualification Titles Qualification titles (certificates, licenses, affiliations, courses, etc.) Hairstylist certification Experience and Specialization Hairstyling techniques Hair drying Curling and waving iron Permanents Hair straightening Roller setting Coloring techniques Bleach Dyes Hair highlights Highlights/streaks
